DRIVING TESTS / CAR REPAIRS

I did a lot today. I went to Wynyard and got my learners license renewed since I failed my last test. The man who served me was Filipino and he recognised me as part Filipina too... I was amused. I love how Filipino people talk... they make light-hearted jokes and firm but only half-serious comments, "Renewing your learners? Because you love learning" and "Hawaii is very nice. You must go." *laughs* He told me to take my time with the test, which somewhat put me at ease but I still got an obvious question wrong. I did pass though and I'm very glad to have this fresh start. I think this time I will have the pressure off... no looming deadline. I'm glad. I asked myself and God why things went the way they have... what did I do wrong? I think I've learnt something through this though... to come to God with greater humility and present all things before him. I did not invite God in very often, more trusting myself to get myself through. I will do it differently this time.

God has looked after me. I got home from the city this afternoon and as I walked up the hill I saw my neighbour Chris pulling into his driveway. He's a smash repairer and after I crashed my car into a pole (yeah, that's how I failed my test) my neighbours upstairs introduced me to him. Chris said he could fix it and today, he did. He knocked the dent out as best he could and buffed out the scratches. He was wonderful and definately did it for much much cheaper than a garage would charge. I thanked God over and over for his provision. My neighbours upstairs also have said they'll take me out driving. I count my blessings and I am rich. The day I crashed, Sara came over with her cousin and brought me muffins (white chocolate and raspberry!) to cheer me up and Tom stayed with me and we watched movies. It was easier having them around after the initial crash.

For all my disappointment, I am glad. I feel like I've got a fresh start. One that I can start and end in God's strength this time. I am pretty sure I'll be okay now. :)

Day Trotter

I downloaded four Bon Iver tracks - different versions that are beautiful and free. :) I haven't even looked at what other artists are there yet... but what a grand new playground to play in! :)
